Human Resources Generalist

Adecco is hiring a Human Resources Generalist to work with a client in Castle Hayne, NC. This is a 6 month contract opportunity which requires travel. If you meet the requirements below, follow the link to submit an application. 

Responsibilities for the Human Resources Generalist include but are not limited to:

  • Report to the Sr. Human Resources Manager at the corporate office in New Jersey
  • Perform a variety of human resources duties on a professional level for multiple facilities, both union and nonunion.
  • Provide guidance to employees and management regarding all matters HR related, while ensuring the utmost customer service in a timely, accurate and efficient manner.
  • Participate in or lead key projects.
  • Provide initial direction concerning day to day HR issues.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to employees and managers for a variety of support requests.
  • Administer various human resources plans and procedures.
  • Prepare and send routine correspondence and notices internally and externally.
  • Process/respond to employment verification.
  • Assist with compensation & benefits administration.
  • Assist employees, managers and retirees with benefit related questions.
  • Administers performance review program to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within organization.
  • Proactively build and maintain a positive relationship with employees and Union representatives through active and transparent communication, fair and consistent application policy, and labor agreements.
  • Administer hourly employees’ employment terms and conditions pursuant to the local collective bargaining agreement.
  • Assist in administration of grievance processes and provide support in labor negotiations
  • Main contact for employee relations respond to questions, resolve issues and manage conflicts between employees and managers.
  • Conduct workplace investigations and provide employee relations support to help promote a positive, productive work environment. 
  • Manage employee discipline from warnings through the termination process.
  • Prepares employee separation notices and related documentation, and conducts exit interviews to determine and document reasons behind separations.
  • Manage ADA and other leave administration issues in coordination with line managers, Benefits Specialist and payroll manager.
  • Coordinate Worker Compensation process through claims management, employee advocacy, and return to work management.
  • Be a champion for plant safety and performance by understanding how the HR role can partner with employees and management to improve safety performance and drive a high performing safety culture.
  • Development and implement policies and procedures.
  • Maintains employee handbook and policies.
  • Administer company policies to ensure the uniform and equitable treatment of all employees.
  • Provide general human resources policy and procedural guidance, support and interpretation.
  • Understand and utilize Workday to its full functionality, maintain data accuracy, and assist in the implementation of new features and modules.
  • Review, validate, correct and approve HR transactions that are initiated by employees and managers.
  • Create and maintain physical and electronic employment records of HR transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, and terminations.
  • Perform general research and analysis of data to prepare reports.
  • Identifies legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance.
  • Provide advice to management on the compliance and regulatory issues related to management initiatives.
  • Respond to government and other inquiries and reporting requirements.
  • Requirements for the Human Resources Generalist include:  

  • Minimum of 5 years’ well-rounded HR experience in a manufacturing environment required. 
  • Union experience strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related discipline.
  • PHR/SPHR preferred.
  • Experience in Workday system strongly desired, or other equivalent cloud based HCM system
  • Technologically savvy, excellent in MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Possesses outstanding interpersonal, written, oral communication, listening, and influencing skills.
  • Ability to travel 20-30%.
  • Proven ability to prioritize workload while multitask and meet deadlines.

  • High level of organizational skills
  • Very detail oriented and accurate.
