Human Resources Representative -  Wheeling, WV

Our client specializes in complex commercial exterior envelope applications in various markets throughout the country. The company boasts an extensive project portfolio including clients in the automotive, chemical, government, education and healthcare industries. Responsibilities & Duties: 

·  Assists the human resources department in carrying out various programs and procedures for all company employees. Helps monitor and facilitate the performance review process.

·  Participates in benefits administration, including enrollments, claims resolution, approval of invoices for payment, distribution of annual employee notices as required and assisting with benefits reporting requirements.

·  Participates in recruitment efforts for exempt and nonexempt personnel; helps coordinate the use of temporary employees; maintains applicant flow logs.

·  Conducts new-employee orientations

·  Assists in the exit interview process.

·  Assists in organizational training and development efforts.

·  Maintains human resource information system records and processes new hire paperwork, terminations, status changes and compiles reports as needed.

·  Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars as directed.

·  Perform customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions.

·  Complete I-9 for new hires and maintains I-9 records.

·  Conduct audits of various payroll, benefits or other HR programs and recommend any corrective action.

·  Assist HR director with various research projects and/or special projects.

·  Create new employee personnel files and file papers and documents into appropriate employee files.

·  Coordinates with hiring manager(s) to determine staffing needs and recruiting process for position(s).

·  Maintains employee referral program.

·  Screens resumes, interviews candidates (by phone or in person), administers appropriate pre-employment assessments/tests, conducts reference/background checks, and makes recommendations for hire (or not hire).

·  Uses traditional and nontraditional resources, such as career fairs, online job fairs, community network events, etc., to identify and attract quality candidates.

·  Follows up with candidates and hiring managers to obtain feedback regarding recruiting process.

·  Manages current candidate activity in the applicant tracking system (ATS).

·  Manages application/resume file and retention according to company policy.

·  Consults with managers and supervisors to assess training needs.

·  Develops, implements and delivers training programs for varying levels of individuals within the company

·  Documents procedures for the HR Department.

·  Develops and maintains continual education support materials to be used for reference once training has been completed.

·  Continually evaluates training progress and training procedures to monitor and analyze course effectiveness and update curriculum as needed.

·  Assist the Human Resources Department with employment, labor relations, and safety related matters.

·  Performs other duties as required or as assigned.


  • Bachelor s degree in human resources or a related field or equivalent education, training and experience
  • Two to four years in a human resources position
  • Excellent customer service skills and attention to detail
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and time management skills
  • Excellent communication skills; both internal and external
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications
