Well established mechanical contractor looking to hire experienced HVAC DDC Controls Tech III.
Summary Description:
Conduct preventive maintenance, trouble shooting & repair, general servicing, development,
installation, and commissioning of HVAC automation systems. Responsible for ensuring high
levels of customer service and satisfaction.
Essential Functions:
· Diagnose and repair complex DDC system malfunctions requiring extensive knowledge of digital controls systems.
· Communicate regularly with customers and discuss operating problems, inform customer of the nature of service provided, needed repairs & recommended system upgrades.
· Assist sales with bid proposals and providing sales leads.
· Write field proposals for retrofits, upgrades and/or enhancements to existing equipment.
· Assist in the design development of hardware and software configuration of building control systems as defined by the contract documents, including creating flow diagrams, sequence of operations, network layouts, electrical schematics, submittals and bill of materials.
· Release/order and track all materials for assigned projects.
· Assist with job layouts, loading, trouble shooting and commissioning of all system and network-level controllers as required.
· Conduct owner training and compiling job close out documentation including certificate of completion, customer training forms, training certificates, etc.
· Mentor mechanical and electrical technicians in the field.
· Communicate and work in cooperation with other divisions, managers and subcontractors.
· Complete other assignments and tasks as assigned.

Education & Experience
Minimum two (2) year Vocational School or Associate degree in electronics, mechanical systems,
computer technology, air conditioning or similar field.
Minimum seven (7) years of increasingly responsible experience in installing and servicing electronic control and HVAC equipment.
Advanced computer skills required along with a high level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite software (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).
Knowledge of a wide variety of DDC systems and the ability to write & test programs in multiple software languages, as well as demonstrating a high level of understanding of software applications related to the HVAC industry.
Experience in the integration of low voltage building sub-systems using various industry protocols.
Knowledge of control theory, automatic temperature controls, building automation systems and other building

Highly organized with excellent attention to detail and possessing strong written and verbal communication, analytical and reasoning skills & abilities. Self-starter with ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to explain technical information to technical and non-technical people. Ability to work and adapt in a fast paced construction team environment (both, field and office). Ability to work for a diverse group from trade, office personnel, managers, contractor, and subcontractors. Willingness to self-study to improve and maintain technical proficiency. Complete certifications as required by the company.
