Job Title: HVAC Engineering/CAD Manager

JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for managing the Engineering / BIM team on creating HVAC shop, fabrication, permit and BIM drawings from engineering documents. Coordinate drawings with other trades and work closely with Project Managers, field personnel and vendors. The position requires good problem solving and communications skills and a strong understanding of Florida construction and buildings codes.
● Operate CAD equipment to create working drawings on large commercial projects.
● Ability to read contract drawings and equipment submittals.
● Prepares shop/detail drawings and as built drawings.
● Use latest version of Autocad MEP and CADpipe commercial pipe to prepare all shop drawings.
● Able to perform material take offs from shop drawings as required.
● Generate concise information to be supplied with Request for Information (RFI’s) or field questions when discrepancies arise.
● Verify all RFI, ASI or PR changes are incorporated in all shop drawings.
● Able to prepare prefabrication spool drawings.
● Ensures and maintains quality for finished drawings.
● Prepares drawing required for government/ county permits and utility companies.
● Develop detail pipe layout and isometric drawings.
● Develop and maintain HVAC piping detail library.
● Coordinate the plumbing with other trade i.e structural, piping, duct, electrical & interior design
● Basic knowledge of different HVAC piping equipment and systems in term of function and local codes ● Conducts site verification as required.
● Maintains and updates electronic and manual records of the company.
● Secure all company documents at all times.
● Maintains shop drawing log for all HVAC piping jobs.
● Recommends changes for improvement in the system, methods and procedures.
● Abides with the company rules regulations.
● Performs other related duties as may be assign by the Superior.
● Able to make coordination changes to drawings with knowledge of local codes and installation.
● Basic Knowledge of Revit MEP.
● Stay up to date with current and future software development.
● Able to communicate with others with in the company as well as vendors, customers and general contractors.
● Show willingness to share knowledge with others.
● Accept change as a necessary process for successful execution of our projects.
● Good communication and organizational skills.
● A.A. degree in design/drafting or equivalent work experience.
● Minimum 5 years work experience in commercial HVAC piping. Proficiency with software tools including, AutoCAD, Navisworks, MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and other related 3D detailing software tools.
● Must be able to hear, and speak clearly with professional standard grammar;
● Ability to perform field surveys

● Notify dispatch or Service Manager immediately in the event of an accident - property or injury.
● Service Technicians/Field employees are empowered to stop any unsafe actions. Field Employee must notify foreman or supervisor immediately. If at a customer's job, the environment or process is unsafe, the Technician must call dispatch or Service Manager to explain unsafe conditions before proceeding.
● Service Technicians/Field employees must attend safety related meetings as required.
