Responsibilities for this (insert title) job include:

Assembles simple component parts into complete connector units in accordance with product specifications. Performs all tasks in a safe and efficient manner to protect one self, others, products, materials and other company assets from harm. Operates with a high degree of integrity in the performance of duties to foster good working relationships, develop a spirit of teamwork, and accomplish job goals.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Assembles complete connector units from component parts, moving from simple units to slightly more complex assemblies using a variety of techniques. Reads drawings and routers to determine assembly specifications and identifies component parts. Maintains an increasing level of high efficiency and quality of workmanship in the assembly process to ensure that production goals are met with minimal waste of time, effort, or materials. Records various data from the assembly process for quality traceability. Follows router instructions for recording data on quantity, locations, and status of rework and scrap. Reports production results in an accurate and timely manner, summarizing daily assembly activity including scrap and rework, for evaluation by the department supervisor. Interfaces frequently with the lead or supervisor in identifying and resolving production problems. This includes correcting routine problems and identifying complex assembly problems. Tracks material usage to anticipate shortages and advises the supervisor of shortages in a timely manner to reduce loss of production time. Performs any other related tasks as assigned by supervisor to maintain productivity and contribute to overall efficient operations.


QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High School diploma or equivalent.


JOB SKILLS/TYPE OF PERSON Ability to track and record jobs that they are responsible for. Ability to use known priorities to ensure on time completion of tasks. Possess good eye-hand coordination with respect to very small parts. Ability to use hand tools such as tweezers, precision knife, picks, pliers and cutters. LANGUAGE AND TECHNICAL SKILLS Ability to read, speak, write and understand English. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Basic addition and subtraction skills. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. Regularly required to sit. Occasionally required to stand, walk, reach, handle and feel. Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required, i.e. close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to focus. WORK ENVIRONMENT This is an air conditioned facility with many pieces of equipment that produce heat. The following are potential items encountered: fumes, dust, noise, hazardous/toxic chemicals, periods of standing/lifting, walking up/down stairs, electrical hazards. Appropriate training is provided and documented based on job placement that complies with OSHA and EPA regulations PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS Safety rated glasses are required for the job. Safety shoes may be required in some situations. Other PPE may be required based on exposures.
