Industrialization Engineer – Wallingford, CT

Our client is a leading designer and manufacturer of electrical components for wireless communications worldwide. They are experiencing tremendous growth and are looking to add an experienced Industrialization Engineer to their team. This person will need to have experience within the fiber optic or coaxial cable industry.

This is a dual focused position. New Production Introduction and Sustaining Manufacturing. The Engineer will be a part of the Industrialization group, supporting production in multiple facets.


Core member on a cross-functional development team consisting of; project management, product management, design engineering, industrialization engineering, test engineering, supply chain management, quality, and manufacturing.
Champion early mechanical concept reviews including both design for manufacturability (DFM) reviews and PFEMA reviews.
Develop the manufacturing plan for new products accounting for; forecast volume, manufacturing process, test plan, tooling, capital equipment, and development schedule.
Optimize design for cost effective manufacturing - reduce labor content thru early design involvement, make/buy decisions on vendor added-value, self-fixturing components, parts reduction and parts standardization
Perform engineering work related to planning, devising, or adapting methods to improve manufacturing production.
Examine equipment, processes, operations, and assembly to determine time or quality revisions, and suggest improvements.
Investigate operational problems, determine fixes and take corrective action.


BS in Mechanical, Electrical or Manufacturing Engineering (preferred)
5+ years related experience in mechanical, electrical or manufacturing field
Strong aptitude toward driving projects
Ability to operate in high paced, multi-tasking environment.
Ability to lead team efforts to accomplish goals.
Ability to apply project management principles to projects.
Strong knowledge of MS Office, MS Project, MRP systems (SAP, preferred), and CAD (SolidWorks, preferred).
Occasional domestic and international travel may be required.
