A CMM Inspection Technician position is available courtesy of Modis Engineering. In this position you will be responsible for providing leadership and direction in support of the company’s Quality Management System. This will require an individual who is a self-starter, motivated and multi-task oriented. Candidate should be experienced with inspections in a production/manufacturing environment. CMM Inspectors utilize a CMM for dimensional inspections, (detail parts, components, and assemblies) and provide reports to support inspections performed. Duties will include (but not limited to) receiving an inspection, in-process inspection, final inspection, disposition and control of nonconforming product, first article inspection and record keeping. Salary is open, DOE.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

CMM Inspection Technicians utilize a CMM for dimensional inspections, (detail parts, components, and assemblies) and provide reports to support inspections performed.
Receiving an inspection, in-process inspection, final inspection, disposition and control of nonconforming product, first article inspection and record keeping.
Be accountable for working safely by following all safety rules and safe work practices.
Always consider safety before action.
Operate CMM in automatic program mode, using (PC DMIS) programs.
Manipulate CMM results using CAD.
Inspection and calibration of inspection fixtures and hand tools.
Preparation of layout reports using the computer.
Maintain department equipment.
Communicate effectively with machinists and operators to maintain acceptable quality.
Perform First Article Inspections by hand also with a variety of inspection tools.
Must be a demonstrated team player with a positive attitude, superior work ethic, and able to solve issues respectfully with peers and management.
Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives such as 5S and Kaizen events along with zero Defect Quality Initiatives.

NECESSARY EXPERIENCE/SKILLS

At least one year of experience operating Coordinate Measuring Machines.
Must be able to Read/Comprehend English instructions.
Computer literate (spreadsheets and word processor).
Strong written and oral communication skills and legible handwriting.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Understanding of CMM operations.
PC DMIS experience is a plus.
CAD skills are a plus.
ISO 9000 and AS9100 experience a plus.
Understand Geometrical Dimensioning & Tolerance in accordance with ANSI Y14.5
