Instructional Designer I

Duration - 12 months



A  self-driving technology company with the mission to make it safe and easy for everyone to get around. State of the art technology requires high end training. Using human learning principles, you support training development by conducting needs assessments, documenting training content with subject matter experts, building technical and high impact training deliverables, and monitoring program performance. 

Overall Responsibilities: 
You will work with a training team to develop a wide range of training deliverables across the company. You are also expected to quickly establish and maintain relationships with stakeholders and subject matter experts, identify needs/requirements, and manage multiple and potentially inconsistent sources of content that will change frequently. 

Top 3 Daily Responsibilities: 
1. Collaborate with subject matter experts to develop and organize training materials. 
2. Identify, document and prioritize learning and performance objectives to design scalable learning solutions. 
3. Develop course content that engages the audience and drives long-term behavioral changes. 

Required Skills/Qualifications: 
- BA/BS degree in education, Learning theory, Instructional design and/or related discipline field or equivalent practical 10 yrs. experience in lieu of degree. 
- 3+ years of experience designing, developing, and delivering learning using multiple media. 
- Hands-on experience with technical topics or environments (e.g. computers, programming, networking, front-end development, etc.). 
- Strong organizational skills. 
- Experience with documentation, technical writing and narrative scripting. 
- Tolerance and enthusiasm for working with ambiguity and change. 

Nice to Have Skills/Qualifications or Not Required: 
- Familiarity with authoring software; i.e. Storyline, Captivate, etc. 
- Knowledge of learning format options and trade-offs. 
- Familiarity working with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Terminal.
