Insurance Authorization Specialist - Durable Medical Equipment

Responsibilities: Contact insurance companies to verify eligibility coverage for durable medical equipment benefits. Requests authorizations for durable medical equipment from insurance carriers. Follows up on requests that are outstanding. Provides additional clinical information to carriers upon request. Schedules peer-to-peer appeals between carriers and the providers as needed. Must be able to communicate professionally with the clients and providers. Must be able to produce excel reports of volumes, backlogs and productivity. Utilizes the client's EPIC system to manage the authorization from start to finish. Previous authorization experience preferred. Knowledge of insurance carriers practices regarding authorizations is helpful. Strong verbal and written skills in order to effectively communicate with the department manager, client and insurance carriers is required.

Requirements: Insurance authorization experience is preferred could be in any healthcare industry. (DME, pharma, physician, hospital etc.)


Work schedule: M-F 7:30-4 or 8:-4:30

4+ months

Pay rate $15.00/hr
