GENERAL PURPOSE:

 

Process high volumes of import purchase orders to the assigned banks for Letters of Credit (LC) and Open Account (OA) issuance, amendments, and update import orders issued out under LC/OA. Daily review and approval of bank cited discrepancies landing on bank desktop. Maintain a log/track of all LC/OA purchase orders listed under Clean or Discrepant bank advices. Process daily payments to the assigned banks for import purchase order invoices presented under LC/OA. Review invoice document packets received for Wire/ACH transfers purchase orders for payment processing and track the daily Wire/ACH transfer payments. Follow up and resolve to clear issues related to  LC/OA issuances, invoice payments and shipments of imported goods

Letters of Credit, Open Account and Wire/ACH transfer processing to include:

  • Administer daily transactions at the direction of the International Finance Supervisor for vendors, agents, banks, ensuring timely and accurate delivery, working independently with minimum supervision.

  • Timely and accurate processing of import purchase orders to the assigned banks for Letter of Credit and Open Account issuances and amendments within the set standards. Ensures that transactions are processed accurately in accordance with established guidelines, policies and procedures.

 

  • Timely and accurate processing of letters of credit and open account payment to the assigned banks, including approval of submitted letters of credit requests, clearing discrepancies, amending LC/OA as required, reviewing payments for accuracy and assisting to resolving any issues.

 

  • Ensure the timely and accurate processing of document packets received for wire/ACH transfer orders for payment processing, confirming receipt of all required documents, reviewing said documents for accuracy and that the first cost matches to Import PO system.  Processing any commission invoices in connection to first cost.

 

  • Assist and support other team members should the need arise, such as with payments for shipping and consolidation of goods is needed.

 

 

 

 

 

 

  • Maintain good relationships with international finance team, Ross/dd’s buyers, assigned banks, agents, vendors and all other departments connected.  Assist with problem resolution on purchase orders, payments, invoices and discrepancies. Maintain relationship with issuing banks and ensure data provided by bank is accurate and timely, including the daily funding report for payment processing.

 

  • Actively maintain accurate daily record keeping insuring a clean audit trail.  Maintain accurate information for all daily reporting of LC/OA issuances, and any payments made related to imported goods. Other duties as assigned by supervisor which may include projects, training initiatives, writing procedures, and processing (non-routine) monthly and quarterly transactions

QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:

 

  • 2 years work experience in International Trade experience preferred
  • 2 years work experience in high volume Accounts Payable preferred

 

  • PeopleSoft experience preferred
  • Knowledge in Excel (Spreadsheet-lookup, Pivot)
  • Microsoft Windows background
  • 10-key data entry and calculator by touch
  • Detail oriented
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask
