Junior Cytometry Technician

Adecco- Medical & Science is looking for " Junior Cytometry technicians" for one of our leading clients in Bioscience in South San Francisco.

Title: Cytometry Technician

Our Client is focused on using technology to better understand health, as well as prevent, detect, and manage disease. Their mission is to bring together technology and life sciences to uncover new truths about health and disease. The Production Flow Cytometry team is seeking a Laboratory Technician to contribute to the high-throughput processing of patient samples through flow cytometric cell sorters for advanced research projects. The Cell Sorting Technician will analyze peripheral blood mononuclear cell (PBMC) samples to isolate and sort immune cell subsets in a biosafety level 2 environment during day or evening shifts. This individual will be a part of a growing and multidisciplinary scientific team.

Contract Duration- 1 Year


Responsibilities:
• Process human samples and execute cytometry and cell sorting protocols in a robust and consistent manner
• Perform and document routine and periodic instrument maintenance
• Support and maintain research inventory, calibrate instruments, and perform purchasing, record-keeping, and related administrative tasks

Must Have Qualifications:
• BA/BS degree in biology, immunology, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience working with primary human blood samples in a biosafety environment Excellent communication and documentation skills
• Enthusiasm, independence, and a willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment
• Flexibility to work weekends and shift work

Nice to Have Qualifications:
• [Highly preferred] Experience with sample preparation for flow cytometry
• [Highly preferred] Experience with flow cytometer operation
• [Highly preferred] Experience with cell sorting (FACS)
• 2+ years experience working in an immunology laboratory or cytometry core facility
• Understanding of cytometry validation methods and metrics
• Experience with cytometry analysis
• Experience working in quality controlled environments (GCLP, CLIA, etc.)

Work Shifts
The approximate shift hours will be assigned upon starting the assignment, must be flexible to work either shift.

Day:5:30AM-2:00PM
Evening: 1:00PM-9:30PM
