Junior Project Manager

Adecco Creative is assisting our client, an American office furniture manufacturer and retailer, in their search for a Junior Project Manager. This is a direct hire position working onsite in the company’s Berkeley Heights, NJ offices, salary is commensurate with experience.

Applicants must live within a 25-30-mile radius of Berkeley Heights, have reliable transportation, and be willing to commute into NYC on an as-needed basis.

Qualified candidates must have previous experience within the furniture industry, ideally working for a dealership.

Responsibilities will Include:

  • Assuming the lead role in managing small projects and/or handling day to day account management, and assisting in budget preparation
  • On larger scale projects, partnering with the PM to prepare budget, specifications and project schedules
  • Responsible for pricing of furniture, preparation of proposals, and coordination of shop drawings, approvals, and change orders
  • Supporting the PM in communication with clients, vendors, and design firms on various project activities
  • Develop and issue client updates and internal status reports as necessary
  • Participating with the onsite delivery and installation process
  • Assisting in the coordination of billing and invoicing activity
  • Handling punch list resolution; creating related status reports, working with manufactures to resolve issues
  • Keeping abreast of new products, trends and processes or techniques
  • Coordinating procurement of digital copies of vendor contracts/KPRs; assisting in training coordinators on how to interpret and apply against orders
  • Submitting special requests to manufacturer and technical resources team as needed


  • 3-5 years of industry experience (design or furniture), dealer specific experience preferred
  • Team Design software experience preferred
  • CAP 20/20 software experience preferred
  • Excellent MS office skills, Excel required
  • Professional, proactive work ethic and able to work in a team environment
  • Must be able to work well in a fast-paced, chaotic atmosphere where multi-tasking, time management and attention to detail are critical to meet multiple, ongoing deadlines
  • BA/BS in related field preferred but not required
  • Strong oral and written communication skills are a must
  • Solid interpersonal skills and effective relation building capacity with clients and internal teams
  • Strong analytical approach to problem solving
