Commercial Kitchen Technician Manager

We are on the hunt for a Commercial Kitchen Technician Manager for the Greater New Orleans area for one of our local clients. Our client, who is doing great things to better the students in our community, seeking an experienced Commercial Kitchen Technician to work in the Great New Orleans area.

Responsibilities
The Commercial Kitchen Technician Manager will work with customers delivering innovative solutions to predict and prevent kitchen equipment failure.

The service technician has to possess the ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair gas, electric, steam, refrigeration and any other type of food preparation equipment.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
? Supervises all levels of personnel in the area of commercial food service equipment.
? Gives immediate attention to emergency repairs of equipment which jeopardizes the food service operation.
? Develops, supervises and follows plan for preventative maintenance of food service equipment.
? Works cooperatively and professionally with cafeteria managers, building administrators and district crafts people.
? Coordinates with appropriate personnel to arrange for contractors which may be needed.
? Monitors work done by contractors to insure work is done properly and that the District?s interests are given top priority.
? Assists in the preparation and maintenance of bid specifications for all kitchen equipment.
? Demonstrates the ability to attend work on a regular and routine basis to avoid disruption of school operations.
? Trains, coaches, and provides support to assigned personnel: may include but not limited to the functions listed: properly trouble shoots, diagnosis and repairs commercial cooking, holding and refrigeration equipment. Defines service problems, collects data, establishes facts and draws valid conclusions about the work needing to be performed. Communicates with manufacturers as needed to help with diagnosing problems with equipment. Consults with manufacturers, sales representatives, dealers and customers.
? Provides optimal customer service to all students, employees, parents, community members and any other stakeholders.
? Demonstrate effective troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to correct repair on the first trip.
? Effectively manage time and resources.
? Build strong customer relationships through excellent communication and technical abilities.
? Obtain additional licenses and certifications as appropriate.
? Preserve company assets through the accountability for tools, inventory, and vehicle maintenance
? Maintain accurate paperwork

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENT
? High School diploma or equivalent
? Service industry experience - refrigeration, appliance repair, kitchen equipment, HVAC or a degree in HVAC/R from an accredited Technical/Vocational School
? Possess mechanical & electrical skills, be able to read wiring diagrams & schematics
? Must have current Driver's License & clean driving record
? Ability to handle Stressful situations and work in a fast paced environment
? Must be able to work well with other technicians and tradesmen
? Ability to use hand and power tools and good mechanical skills
? Ability to juggle multiple tasks
? Self-motivated and have the ability to prioritize and work independently with minimal direct supervision
? Willingness to be involved with the emergency on-call rotation that includes nights and weekends.
? Ability to work variable and flexible hours, including required overtime.
? Experience in project and vendor management
? Experience working with multiple data and software systems
? Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint
General Administration
? Support Director of the program in the general day to day requests.
? Help organize and file department procedures and State required documents.
? Help respond to communications from school staff.
Physical Requirements:
? Ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force (pulling, pushing, lifting, carrying, etc.) regularly and up to 50 pounds of force frequently.
? Ability to climb and work from 8ft ladder, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, stand, walk, twist, grasp to perform essential job functions.
? Self-starter; takes initiative and works independently
? Flexible and able to multi-task; can work within an ambiguous, fast-moving environment
? Demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities and achieving results
? Strong interpersonal skills; works well with others
