A Lab Technician job is available in Madera, CA at a reputable winery. These are 4-6 month contract opportunities with the potential to be converted to a permanent employee. Any laboratory experience or would be preferred.


Job Description Responsibilities

-  Primary job function is to perform line audit and quality checks on bottling lines.

       - This includes but is not limited to: Line audits, pallet audits, fill height determination, CO2 analysis, alcohol analysis, TPO testing, label specification and placement, torque, cap seal, vacuum testing and glue adhesion.

- Perform quality investigation to determine root cause and product disposition.

- Prepare, maintain, and distribute reports that include but are not limited to: Holds, fill height performance, microbial activity, and customer complaints.

- May perform other analytical and packaging tests to determine if wines, components, packaging materials, and other products meet Company and regulatory specifications.

- Perform micro related functions to meet Company regulatory specifications.

- Calibrate, operate, and maintain laboratory equipment.

- Prepare reagents and standard solutions.



 Work off shifts and overtime (daily and 6th/7th day) as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications:

- Associate's Degree

- 0-2 years of lab experience (equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable)

-Ability to follow verbal and written instructions/direction 

Ability to prioritize and multi-task

- Must be able to recognize potential problems that require solutions to be found at a higher level ¿ Basic writing and math skills ¿ Computer skills


Preferred Qualifications

- Associate's Degree in Enology, Biological Science, or Chemistry is preferred

- Familiarity with AS400, JDE/SAP and Intellepac is a plus


Physical Requirements/Work Environment

- Ability to lift and/or move 50 pounds.

-  Climb stairs.

-  Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time.

- Is exposed to loud noise, fumes and/or toxic chemicals -

Works near moving, mechanical parts and lift truck traffic

- Shift work required
