Laboratory Technician I

A Laboratory Technician I role in Eagan, MN is now available through Adecco Medical and Science. In this role, you will be part of the team supporting multiple divisions. The job includes chemical and application testing such as cleaning evaluation, damage analysis and materials compatibility testing. Both analysis quality and cycle time are key aspects of the position since our objective is to respond rapidly to the sales team with quality information. In addition to good basic bench skills we are looking for good computer skills, a fast pace and strong work ethic. An aptitude for creative problem solving is important in the technical service environment. This is a minimum 1-year contract assignment (possible contract-hire) starting in April 2019.

The responsibilities of the Laboratory Technician I include:

This position will contribute to the effectiveness and productivity of the Sales and Service organization through accurate and efficient lab analysis. This position delivers results to cross-divisional corporate sales and service forces across North America. Specific accountabilities and duties include:

• Providing routine lab analysis and technical support to the Sales and Service organization.
• Cross-training to develop the capability to support all the types of analysis required by the lab.
• Utilize the LIMS system for lab sample tracking and reporting.
• Provide clear and accurate data summaries and analysis.
• Completion of special project assignments to improve our knowledge base or upgrade the lab infrastructure.
• Updating and developing documentation for Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s)

• Bench Analysis 80%
• Data Summary and Analysis 10%
• Special projects and team participation 5%
• Infrastructure maintenance and development 5%


• An Associate’s Degree or partial completion of a BS/BA course work in Chemistry, Biology, Food Science or a related field.
• 1+ year work experience in a technical laboratory
• Basic understanding of chemistry, chemical safety and handling, and fundamental laboratory techniques.
• Self-Motivated, able to work proactively and independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrated strong written and oral communication skills.
• Demonstrated attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
