Position Summary
Assists with maintaining daily operations of the physical facility. Supports maintenance mechanics and
facilities staff by performing ¿handyman¿ maintenance duties such as furniture moves, simple
electrical projects, spot painting and/or cleaning, light construction and/or exterior cleanup. Works
with outside contractors on building and equipment repairs. Operates site equipment as needed, using
hand and power tools as necessary. May perform other activities such as audio-visual (AV) set up for
meetings or conferences, inter-office mail deliveries, waste paper recycling, and stocking of employee
break areas. May maintain documentation such as power diagrams, network diagram, space usage,
etc. and also assist with the editing of media materials, such as tapes. May provide support to
vendors/contractors such as security force, cafeteria, media relations. May assist in hosting corporate
visitors/dignitaries. Maintains and repairs the facility¿s structure, equipment and grounds, including
plumbing, electrical and HVAC. Performs skilled trades work, such as carpentry or painting in the
construction, repair or alteration of structures such as walls, roofs or office fixtures. Works with
manufacturing or process engineering in the installation or repair of building plumbing and wiring
required in the production process. Makes periodic or special inspections of the premise to determine
repair work necessary. Works from blueprints, drawings or rough sketches.
Duties & Responsibilities
1. Notify and provide appropriate solutions to management concerning need for major repairs
or additions.
2. Perform general manual labor tasks.
3. Apply and maintain paint, varnishes and stains on buildings and woodwork.
4. Inspect, repair, install, modify and maintain plumbing fixtures in water and drainage
systems.
5. Inspect, repair, install, modify, rebuild, construct and maintain woodwork.
6. Perform minor repairs to roofs, windows, doors and floors.
7. Inspect, repair, install, modify and maintain electrical/electronic systems, circuits and
equipment.
8. Plan, install and repair drywalls to cover walls, ceilings, soffits, shafts and movable
partitions.
9. Troubleshoot, diagnose and solve mechanical problems.
10. Maintain and repair specialized equipment and machinery in cafeteria.
