Reports to Stevedoring Manager and Supervisor

Summary/Objective The Leadman supports the team supervisor and performs supervisory duties when the supervisor is not available or absent. Must be able to perform all team duties for coverage and supervisory purposes. The leadman is responsible for practicing safe work habits and for maintaining a clean and safe work place environment. 1. Performs duties in accordance with Terminals standards
2. Completes a safety risk assessment prior all work performed 3. Supervises staff functions and tasks in a safe, efficient, and effective manner as needed
4. Ability to perform any role in the gang efficiently and in a timely manner
5. Coordinate and/or facilitate the resolution of any barriers that could impede workload 6. Work with management to schedule, prioritize, and control workload
7. Communicates professionally with team members, supervisors, and customers.
8. Actively participates in safety or educational training as required
9. In the event of a fuel or fluid spills, takes all necessary steps to contain the spill
10. Follows all safety standards & guidelines, including but not limited to, wearing of safety glasses, wearing of steel-toed/safety shoes, appropriate safety gloves as needed, and proper attire
11. Performs any other management requests or directives as requested Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment
This position works in a port/terminal setting, with ample outdoor exposure during the workday. This role routinely spends most of the day standing up and performing other physical activities as needed.

Physical Demands  Lifting up to 100 lbs. without assistance and up to 250 lbs. with job aids or co-worker assistance  Carrying up to 25 lbs. for a distance up to 200 feet  Pushing/Pulling up to 80 lbs. without assistance and up to 250 lbs. with job aids or coworker assistance  Standing/Walking activities are encountered during 75% of the normal work day  Sitting activities are normally not encountered outside of normal work breaks and would not exceed 10% of a work day  Stooping/Bending/Squatting activities are encountered on a frequent basis  Kneeling/Crouching/Crawling activities are encountered approximately 5% of an average work day  Climbing would comprise no more than 5% of an individual’s time  Reaching activities are conducted on a frequent and repetitive basis throughout the work day  An individual may be required to perform twisting activities, dependent on the type of position he need to place himself in while performing his/her job duties Position
Type and Expected Hours of Work This is a fulltime position. Days and hours of work vary depending on the company’s needs. Travel No travel is expected for this position.
