Loan Ops Processing Specialist

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

below. Specific activities may change from time to time.
1. Sort and distribute incoming mail in a timely, efficient, and quality manner while maintaining the mailroom in a neat
and organized manner and provide support to internal Bankcard & Merchant Services areas regarding mail distribution.

2. Sort, prep, scan, index, and verify all documents received in Bankcard Operations for processing. Research and
clear exceptions within the image workflow process. 

3. Perform appropriate quality control on scanned and keyed items. 

4. Maintain and compile daily statistics. 

5. Process new applications and perform non-monetary maintenance where required/requested on existing accounts.
This process includes but is not limited to; documentation review, data entry of new accounts and non-monetary
maintenance, queue management, verification, and audit.

6. Provide quality customer service to branches and related departments using established communication guidelines
and forms. Communicate with all functions of the Bankcard Operations Production unit, internal areas, and Banking
Network to ensure timely, accurate, and efficient processing of all requests received. 

7. Participate and assist with cross training within the department. Maintain written procedures for work processes.
Assist with training new employees. Develop and maintain a working knowledge of all areas of Bankcard Operations
Production area. 

8. Interpret operating procedures applying to recurring problems and recommend changes as appropriate. Assist with
implementation of new processes and procedures within the department. Assist with problems proving to be more
complex. 

9. Complete special projects as assigned.
Required Skills and Competencies:

1. High School diploma or equivalent education and related training

2. Two years experience as a Bankcard Operations Loan Processing Specialist I or equivalent experience

3. Customer Service experience

4. Ability to identify, analyze and resolve problems independently

5. Proficient with Microsoft Office software with emphasis on Outlook, Word, Excel, and Access

6. Strong typing skills with minimum of 55 words per minute

7. Ability to adapt to and function in a changing work environment

8. Possess strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate professionally with
team members and related departments

9. Demonstrated ability to read, comprehend, and follow instructions

10. Demonstrated ability to work in an area governed by production standards, heavy workloads, and critical deadlines

11. Must be able and willing to work overtime during peak times

12. Knowledge of all Bankcard products and services, account number structure, pricing structure/assignments

13. General understanding of the other areas within Bankcard & Merchant Services
Desired Skills:
1. Associate’s degree

2. Previous Bankcard experience, preferably in the Bankcard Operations Production area

3. Demonstrated leadership qualities
