Responsibilities, Qualifications, & Details:
Utilize a lean mindset and CI tools to manage raw materials to the lowest level possible while fully supporting production and customer service needs. This position reports to the Logistics Manager via the site Logistics Operations Planner. There is also a close working relationship with other Planners, the Operations department, Suppliers, peers in the field, as well as corporate contacts. This role requires a flexible mindset and a quick-thinking, problem-solving approach as the team reacts to changing business needs within a dynamic production environment.

Specific Duties:

Understand and effectively use SAP R/3, APO and MRP for raw material planning, finite production scheduling, and outbound shipping
Managing ingredient & packaging material inventories to ensure adequate supplies while taking into account carrying costs, production requirements, inbound transportation logistics, and internal planning limitations all the while limiting write-off and disposition costs
Set-up & plan new ingredients/packaging materials to support plant
Maintain data integrity on short and long-term basis within planning systems
Collaborate with other Logistics planners to maximize opportunities for synergies (i.e. load consolidation) and minimize inefficiencies (i.e. detention and demurrage)
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Operations, Quality, Finance, Transportation, Warehousing) within the plant as well as externally (Headquarters & Logistics India Development Center (LIDC)) to deliver service goals, plant efficiency targets and total landed cost
Manage replenishment stream to plant by utilizing supplier relationships
Leverage CI tools to drive efficiencies in work processes and the replenishment stream while meeting department and plant objectives
Backup/backfill other Logistics Planning roles, as necessary
Embrace and execute broader Logistics and Plant initiatives as necessary
Coordinate and manage outbound needs
Schedule plant production to best accommodate plant and customer service needs so that all are fulfilled to the highest capacity
Support the initiatives of the Supply Chain Replenishment Center of Excellence, both corporately and locally
Lead/Champion Lean initiatives as they relate to the Planner role and support business needs



Must Have:

Knowledge in MRP planning, warehousing & distribution operations
Drive process efficiencies by utilizing CI tools (PDMS, PBED, YY, AM, etc.) for existing processes, developing process innovations and leading change within Logistics as well as across other functions
Demonstrated self-starter
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong computer skills including knowledge of MS Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook), SAP, and SharePoint portal functionality. Willingness to learn other systems is important
Experience in production scheduling, distribution, materials planning, inventory management or transportation is preferred
