Lynchburg Finance Manager Supply Chain

Job Summary:

Adecco is assisting a local client recruiting for a position as Finance Manager, Supply Chain and will be the senior finance employee in Home Fragrance’s Virginia manufacturing & logistics operations, located in Forest (Lynchburg) and Blairs, Virginia, respectively. The role will interface closely with site operations leaders to monitor financial performance, drive cost improvement and support execution of key business goals and objectives through a combination of project initiatives and day to day management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and coordinate plant & warehouse monthly forecasts, goals & objectives, financial reconciliations, reports and analysis for site management, including variance analysis and cost control reporting and recommendations.
  • Develop and maintain key performance indicators (“KPI”) to monitor operational performance and business dynamics.
  • Analyze and accurately report current month’s financial results to the plant, and corporate management in accordance with corporate format and time requirements, including necessary journal entries and supporting business unit allocations.
  • Manage the standard costing process used in Virginia manufacturing, working closely with headquarters personnel to leverage common processes, approaches and resources using Oracle.
  • Work with product engineers and site operations leads to evaluate new product proposals, including development of standard costs for these products.
  • Review any sourcing agreements related to the site to understand financial implications and limit risk.
  • Evaluate and approve plant capital appropriation requests prior to corporate management approval. Monitor and report purchase commitments and spending for all capital programs.
  • Ensure accuracy of the physical inventory and reported results. Investigate and explain book to physical adjustments.

· Assure adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Policies. Resolve questions of GAAP and internal controls with corporate financial management.

· Assist in the completion of special projects.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 3+ years of related experience in a finance role supporting a manufacturing and/or logistics organization.
  • Ability to understand and assimilate new ideas and manage change.
  • Willingness to aggressively set and achieve goals with a minimum of direction.
  • Good planning and organizational skills combined with strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and technical accounting skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong problem solving and decision making abilities.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, Oracle R12 experience a plus
  • Ability to travel regularly between the Dillard site in Forest, Virginia and the Blairs, Virginia distribution center and to visit our Western Massachusetts Headquarter  locations.
