Machine Operator

Adecco is partnering with a local plastic manufacturing in Louisville, KY to hire Machine Operators on 2nd and 3rd shift. Machine Operators tend one or more machines to specifications on production basis by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Lifts workpiece manually or using hoist and secures workpiece in fixture or loads automatic feeding device.
  • Starts machine, engages feed, and observes operation.
  • Inspects and measures machined workpieces to verify conformance to specifications.
  • Moves machine controls and guides to adjust machine.
  • Replaces worn machine accessories such as cutting tools or brushes.
  • Adds coolant to machine reservoir and turns valve to start flow of coolant.
  • Files, sands, or shapes machined parts.
  • Cleans machined parts.
  • Machines plastics or other nonmetals.
  • Tends machines and equipment other than machine tools.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma/GED
  • Proven track record of excellent attendance - is consistently at work and on time; ensures work responsibilities are covered when absent; arrives at meetings and appointments on time.
  • Forklift experience preferred
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Must be able to pass a drug test.
  • Must be able to work 2nd Shift (3:30 pm – 12am) or 3rd Shift (11:30 pm – 8 am)
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs with the ability to frequently stand, walk use hands, arms, etc. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

  • Must be willing to work in an environment where you are regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles, outside weather conditions, high, precarious places, occasional risk of electrical shock and a loud working environment.
