Machine Shop Helper

Adecco Staffing is looking for a Machine Shop Helper. This candidate will do everything in the machine shop. Shift 2nd shift 3:00 11:30
Pay: $18.50 an hour
Schedule: Monday- Friday

Job Summary

To aid and assist machine shop personal by cutting, deburring and preparing material for machining. Assembling and wiring of manufacturing equipment. Keep machines and shop area neat and clean. Set up and operate a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts. May also fabricate and modify parts to make or repair machine tools or maintain machines, applying knowledge of mechanics, mathematics, metal properties, and procedures. Support in assembling and/or wiring of inhouse designed and constructed manufacturing equipment may be required. Test and debug manufacturing equipment. Keep machines and shop work area neat and organized. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities Use machine shop equipment i.e. horizontal and vertical saws, deburring wheels and small electric and hand tools Perform preventative maintenance on machines and other company equipment Dismantle, clean and reassemble small pumps and other production equipment Read prints to interpret part dimensions and tolerances With limited oversight and based on capability, assemble and wire custom designed and built manufacturing equipment Perform bench work such as filing, deburring, grinding, and lapping Use measurement tools to ensure accuracy of part: i.e. Vernier calipers, micrometers, indicators, machinist scales, and optical comparator Stock, withdraw and maintain tool crib accuracy Shuttle machined parts to / from adjacent manufacturing building as required Perform various other duties assigned by supervisor within the physical constraints of the job

Mechanical Skills: ability to lift 50lbs

Education and Experience Requirements High School Diploma, GED or equivalent required.
Basic PC skills. 2+ years experience in machining or related field Skills and Abilities Follows safety instructions Follows established practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data from which answers can be readily obtained Ensures that jobs are completed on schedule following established procedures and schedules Ability to be trained to operate equipment of increased complexity
