CNC Machinist



A local leading organization is currently seeking experienced CNC Machinist in Longmont for a long-term temporary to hire opportunity. CNC Machinist Produces machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment and supplies. This is a contract to Hire position!!


Primary Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

  • Maintains specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes
  • Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer’s instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
  • Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
  • Setup and run 2-Axis Lathe and Mills
  • Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample work pieces; adhering to international standards.

Physical Requirements:

  • The employee is regularly required to stand for the entire work day.
  • The employee regularly lifts and carries 15 lbs and occasionally lifts and carries up to 75 lbs.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • The employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
  • The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
  • Repetitive bending, reaching, pulling, and lifting (90% of the time).
  • Pushing and pulling wheeled carts weighing up to 1000 lbs. (10% of time).

Required Experience:

  • Must have at least 1 year of experience using CNC lathes
  • Must be familiar with G and M codes
  • Must be able to read blueprints and use measuring devices such as calipers and micrometers
  • High school diploma or equivalent, such as GED; or equivalent education and/or experience.

Pay for this position is $18.00/hr plus overtime as needed. This is a temporary-to-hire opportunity.
