Mail Room Specialist

As the Mail Specialist, you will provide mail sorting, delivery of in-coming / outbound mail, and interoffice mail. You will also deliver UPS, FedEx, and USPS packages.

This is a contract position located Downtown Houston

Essential Duties

  • Provide sorting and delivery of U.S. mail and organize it in trays in accordance with postal requirements for courier or presort vendor pickup.
  • Sort and deliver interoffice and USPS mail to mail rooms
  • Receive and scan UPS, FedEx, and USPS packages into the Package tracking system.
  • Deliver packages to customers within office building.
  • Operates related machines and performs other routine duties related to these functions.
  • Assists clients at the Mail Center front counter.

Basic Qualifications

  • Requires a high school education or equivalent
  • 2 years of relevant work experience required
  • Experience in a mail room, and/or office administration
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
Physical Requirements
  • Able to occasionally lift and carry packages weighing up to 40 lbs. Regularly lift and carry packages weighing up to 20 lbs.
  • Able to push, pull, bend, stoop, lift, carry, reach, grasp, hear, and see.
  • Able to sit, stand or walk for extended periods of time.
  • Able to operate and view a computer for extended periods of time.

Working Conditions

  • Able to work indoors in an open office environment
