Adecco is assisting a commercial real estate services company in finding a permanent placement for their Maintenance Engineer position. That¿s right¿this is a direct hire opportunity! Maintenance Engineer work requires proficiency in the use of tools, equipment required to perform work, including the ability to follow instructions for safe use of products and equipment. Safety gear may be required during the use of equipment. Work requires repetitive bending, stooping, lifting, load carrying, ascending/descending stairs, ladder climbing, pushing and pulling. The Maintenance Engineer¿s key responsible is to maintain and repair all building components to a very high standard. Must be a reliable person able to work independently and have or be able to learn diverse talents.

Responsibilities include:

  • - Positively interact with tenants

  • - Carry out tenant repair and comfort requests

  • - Repair and preventative maintenance of HVAC systems

  • - Repair and maintenance of plumbing

  • - Operation and maintenance of boilers

  • - Maintenance and repair of steam systems

  • - Assess and repair refrigeration systems

  • - Maintenance and testing of safety systems including emergency generators, emergency lighting, fire alarm systems and sprinkler pumps

  • - Repair of minor electrical such as switches, outlets and ballasts

  • - Adjust digital controls on a computer and install digital and pneumatic controls

  • - Operate plow truck, skid steer and tractor for snow removal of sidewalks and parking ramps

  • - Maintenance and repair of building apparatus such as doors and windows

  • - Re-key locks and cut keys

  • - Guide and assist subcontractors during repairs and installations

  • - Assist subcontractors on tenant remodel projects

  • - Ability to work alone or with others on tasks

  • - Willing to work overtime starting at 5am for snow removal when necessary

  • - Able to lift heavy loads and climb ladders as needed to complete above tasks

  • - Proficient in the operation of necessary hand and power tools

  • Essential Qualifications:

  • - Must have clean driving record within the past five years (this position may utilize company vehicle)

  • - Ability to understand verbal and read written instructions competently in English and write legible notes to report building problems

  • - Ability to lift 50 pounds to shoulder height, with or without reasonable accommodations

  • Hours and Pay:

  • - Starting wage is $15.00 per hour but is reviewed every 30 days with potential to increase as employee learns and excels in the position.

  • - Shift is M ¿ F 8am ¿ 4:30pm, with mandatory 5:00am start time on mornings it snows
