The Mechanic position requires candidates to be able to complete the following:

• Ability to balance priorities across multiple job tasks
• Capability to work with vendors/contractors on assigned projects
• Documentation skills
• Basic mechanical and electrical aptitude and troubleshooting skills in the following areas:
 -- Engines, compressors, motors, pneumatics, hydraulics, basic electrical, conveyor systems, production machines, etc.
• Knowledge of using specific tools and procedures for the dismantling and building of devices; such as hoists, hand and power tools, lock-out tag-out, etc.
• Ability to follow work orders, diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, and manufacturer’s instructions
• Demonstrated ability to use precision measuring and testing instruments, such as rules, levels, straightedges, voltage testers etc.
• Technical certification(s) and/or related degree(s) preferred
• Participation in all maintenance safety related programs deemed necessary by management, such as ammonia respirator fit testing
• Related experience in high-speed food and beverage manufacturing processes, preventative maintenance software and TPM preferred
• General computer knowledge necessary


Additionally, you will need to be able to:

• Maintain a safe, clean and sanitary working environments
• Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing basic preventive maintenance requirements and troubleshooting malfunctions
• Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies
• Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results
• Troubleshoot basic mechanical and electrical issues in real time to minimize production downtime
• Locates sources of problems by observing and listening to mechanical devices in operation
• Removes defective parts by dismantling devices
• Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspection
• Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments
• Work proactively with the maintenance department management and support staff
• Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests
• Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs
