Maintenance Mechanic

We are currently seeking an experienced maintenance mechanic for a position in Tioga, PA. This is a full time, long term opportunity. Pay rate: $20.00 per hour.

GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB

Maintain operating machinery, install new machinery and perform building maintenance.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Responsible for equipment to be able to meet/exceed operating standards in the areas of quality, cost, safety, customer satisfaction and productivity. 
  • Perform preventive maintenance to ensure that machines run at their maximum capacity.
  • Plan and lay out repair work, using diagrams, blueprint, repair manuals or schematics.
  • Inspect drives, motors, chains and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, or perform other maintenance actions, following check list.
  • Clean or lubricate shaft, bearings, gears, or other machine components. Repair or replace any defective parts using hand tools and power tools and reassemble equipment.
  • Handle routine and complex troubleshooting of pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical systems and make necessary repairs.
  • Inspect, operate, or test machinery or equipment to diagnose malfunctions.
  • Assemble, install, or repair wiring, electrical, or electronic components, pipe systems plumbing, machinery, or equipment.
  • Operate cutting torches and welding equipment to fabricate or repair machinery.
  • Inspect used parts to determine dimensional requirements, using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
  • Set up and operate machine tools to repair or fabricate machine parts.
  • Perform facility maintenance.
  • Paint or repair roofs, windows, doors, floors, woodwork, drywall, or other building structures.
  • Expected to regularly make recommendations for continuous improvement (productivity, quality, cost and/or safety).
  • Complete all paperwork neatly, correctly, on time and in accordance with Company guidelines.
  • Work with common hand and power tools, such as hammers, saws, drills, wrenches, to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices.
  • Follow and comprehend verbal and written orders.
  • Communicate with employees particularly with regard to proper and safe utilization of equipment
  • Able to work alone or as a team member.
  • Willingly work all necessary hours and shifts.
  • Maintain good housekeeping in work areas.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures including safety and maintain good housekeeping.
  • Take responsibility for continuing to grow skills and knowledge.
  • Additional duties may be assigned by management.
