Maintenance Planner (Manufacturing)

Adecco is currently hiring Maintenance Planner for a manufacturing company in Bellwood, Illinois. This is a DIRECT HIRE position and you get paid weekly!

Responsibilities:

  • Principle contact and liaison between the maintenance department and operations planning. 
  • Reviews all planned work request from production personnel, determine validity and accuracy of information, correct inaccuracies, and schedule work.
  • Identifies work requiring engineering design and reviews them with Engineering/Plant Maintenance Manager.
  • Use CMMS to track machine downtime and proactively identify equipment and parts changes that can be included in preventive job plans to improve operational efficiency.
  • Works with Parts Room Attendants to manage spare part usage to maximize turns but minimize risk of using critical spares.
  • Manages the status of work control and backlog for work order submission to work order completion.
  • Works with Maintenance leads, supervisors and production planners to determine resource availability and work to level the work force.
  • Develops a preliminary workforce schedule by crew ensuring all skills requirement and resource availability is met.
  • Follows up and communicates the schedule to all resources: maintenance, production, outside services, parts attendants and engineering.
  • Issues scheduled work orders with job plan packets to supervisors.
  • Manage a backlog of work orders which require major or significant portion of the facility to be shutdown.
  • Continuously improves the job estimate, planning and scheduling by receiving feedback from maintenance supervisors, maintenance leads, production supervisors, engineers and production planners.
  • Use CMMS to provide daily logs of open work orders, unclosed PMs and key performance indicators.

Competencies/Skills/Knowledge Required

  • Must have prior work with CMMS (Maximo a plus).
  • Mechanical/electrical background is necessary. Apprenticeship program or technical school background is desirable.
  • Have adequate craft knowledge and skill to accurately estimate labor hours, material requirements and skills needed to complete a job.
  • Should have good written and verbal communication skills and have demonstrated the ability to be approachable and tactful.
  • Must have solid computer skills specifically in Excel. Demonstrated organizational and planning skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to read standard blueprints, machine and process drawings.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the maintenance processes and proper use of the work order system, planning and scheduling and storeroom processes.
  • Can manage multiple priorities or projects simultaneously and keep them progressing to completion.
