Maintenance Supervisor

Position Summary: The Maintenance Supervisor will manage the maintenance staff and maintenance operations for a busy food manufacturing plant, ensuring preventative maintenance schedules are followed, identifying recurring issues, deploying maintenance personnel for repairs, handling emergency outages, troubleshooting current issues and deployment of new software to plant equipment. Your ability to manage a skilled team, perform maintenance repairs, operate plant equipment and follow all safety procedures is critical to the success of this role.

Job Responsibilities:

Communicate with both the maintenance and production staff to organize scheduled outages for preventative maintenance
Deploy skilled maintenance staff accordingly for both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance repairs
Monitor all maintenance repairs and update the appropriate department leaders for expected repair time
Contact and schedule contractors needed for outside repairs
Identify recurring downtime and repairs and implement a plant to rectify and eliminate these recurring issues
Troubleshoot and perform emergency repairs as needed
Act accordingly to all safety and good manufacturing practices including the Safe Quality Foods Program


Minimum of an Associate’s degree in Engineering or Technical trade. Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar is preferred
Minimum of 3 years experience in Maintenance Repair with Management experience preferred.
Must have strong skills in mechanical repair including: Electrical, Mechanical, Hydraulic and Pneumatic repairs
Strong ability to read and understand mechanical blueprints and schematics
Excellent leadership skills to direct and motivate a team of skilled employees
Experience working with ammonia refrigeration systems is preferred

This is a full-time position that requires flexibility to work on any shift. This is a set-shift schedule that has some flexibility but the hours will change periodically according to business needs (NOT a rotating schedule). Salary for this position is in the $60-70K range and includes a generous employment package including great benefits, retirement plan and vacation time.
