MAINTENANCE TECH: DIRECT HIRE

POSITION SUMMARY:

Ability to repair and maintain mobile equipment such as forklifts, company trucks and cars. This includes servicing, repairs and determining the need for outside assistance. Maintenance Tech must have: Mechanical, Electrical, Hydraulics experience.


TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
� Employee indoctrination and job description training
� Safety and Quality procedure training
� Fork lift training and certification
� Technical training in servicing and repair of mobile equipment either on the job or at an accredited trade of technical school.
� Leadership training in directing maintenance activities


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

� Ability to perform and follow preventive maintenance procedures

� Performs routine inspections and reports findings to Sr. Maint. Tech or Department Head

� Has ability to repair major problems with mobile equipment

� Trouble shooting and repair of equipment, solving technical problems.

� Ability to disassemble, repair and reassemble mobile equipment

� Monitors inventory of parts and supplies and reports deficiencies to the Sr. Tech. or the Department Head

� Participates in training classes to upgrade skill levels


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Cont.)

� Communicates with operating personnel on equipment problems and corrects the problem where and when needed.

� Observes department safety rules and work instructions at all times, making sure other maintenance personnel do the same.

� Keeps work area clean, especially after the completion of a repair.

� Assists maintenance staff on repairs in the plant as needed

OTHER DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

� Mechanic must be able to perform all Essential Duties and Responsibilities of other positions related to the operation of the equipment including Maintenance Helper. Mechanic may be required to perform these duties at various times to maintain production workflow and product quality.

� Other duties may be assigned as necessary to upgrade and maintain the safe, efficient operation of the warehouse.

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

This position does have leadership responsibilities this includes coordinating the activities of the members of the Maintenance team by; providing information on the requirements of each assigned duty, directing the Maintenance team, maintaining consistent flow of work through the Maintenance area, being concerned for the safety of Maintenance team members and being concerned about the general housekeeping of the Maintenance area.

Maintenance Tech may be required to assist in the training of a new Mechanics or other positions related to the operation of Maintenance including: (General Helper.)

Mistakes or errors of job performance can be costly to the company and the impact on customer satisfaction is significant.

Read and understand Bar Mics
Run a forklift
Run a Jib crane
Read Maintenance and related equipment operating manuals
Read and interpret machine blueprints and use in correcting problems



OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
