Adecco is helping a local client with the following position in Hobart, IN.

Maintenance Tech

To maintain and improve plant electrical systems combined with mechanical and electrical machinery repair in order to provide a high degree of safety, quality and productivity. Typical activities include (but are not limited to): electrical machine and machine component repair/troubleshooting; installation or rearrangement of new or existing equipment/systems.

Individuals must be dependable, hardworking, and self motivated professionals willing to work overtime as required and be flexible for off shift hours


Ability to read electrical schematics and wire directly from wiring diagrams or existing panels and buss bar. Use of electrical tools and diagnostic equipment to complete electrical and mechanical maintenance jobs. Provide support to primary plant operations. Assignments include: responding to equipment emergencies; performing electrical and mechanical PMs during operation or during periods of scheduled downtime; communicating routinely with line personnel and supervision to maintain knowledge of the latest production schedule; communicating potential equipment problems to production and maintenance supervisors to allow scheduling of repairs. Mechanical repair work of semi-automated equipment will be part of this job role. The Tech’s responsibility within the Maintenance Department is to maintain plant electrical and mechanical systems and equipment in a safe and reliable condition in compliance with all applicable corporate, state and federal codes. Maintenance team member’s function within a manufacturing environment, members perform multiple duties which include, but are not limited to: electrical, electronic (PLC), pneumatic, hydraulic and welding machine repairs, maintenance and preventative maintenance. Requires knowledge and mechanical abilities to take equipment/machines apart to perform necessary repairs/upgrade.


Basic Qualifications Include:


  • Enhanced understanding of electricity theory combined with mechanical repair ability
  • Demonstrated ability to work with and up to 480V
  • 3 years manufacturing Mechanical/Electrical Maintenance experience
  • 2 - 3 years equivalent job experience and or training
  • Hands on equipment troubleshooting
  • Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose problems solo as well as in a team environment



  • High School (GED) required Associate degree a plus
  • Work experience of two to three years in maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing environment
