Summary
The Maintenance Tech Level 2 position is responsible for the Preventative Maintenance Program, timely completion of all daily work orders, and optimizing machinery run time while minimizing delays and downtime. The individual will utilize the CMMS system to schedule routine predictive and preventative maintenance. Track all shipments of parts needed for scheduled repairs and maintaining a lean and accurate parts inventory. The individual will be required to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair all types of machinery and equipment to optimize efficiencies and reduce downtime.  Emergencies work orders will be prioritized ahead of all other assignments. Insures all GMP, SSOP, OSHA guidelines and best practices are met prior to commissioning or restarting a piece of machinery, equipment or line.

 

Essential Functions

  1. Create Maintenance Schedule, Organize Work Orders, Input Maintenance Parts Inventory into the system
  2. Maintenance and repair of food processing machinery including: Horizontal and Vertical Mixers, Urschell Dicers, Pack Line Depositing, Sealing and Lidding equipment, Circular and Vacuum pumps, Flow Valves/Fillers, Temperature/Level Sensors, Conveyors, Air Compressors, HVAC Units, Metal Detectors, Check Weigher, and all essential machinery and equipment for the production of salsa, dips and spreads.
  3. The technical knowledge and ability in electrical troubleshooting, including replacement of three phase motors, & knowledge in PLC’s
  4. Installation of equipment and piping; setting up production lines.
  5. Troubleshoot and repair pneumatic devices and hydraulic systems. Rebuilding gearboxes and drives.
  6. Repair and troubleshooting of filling machines.
  7. Follows proper safety guidelines, including lock out tag out procedures during all maintenance and repairs.
  8. Insures GMP, SSOP, OSHA guidelines and best practices are met prior to commissioning or restarting a piece of machinery, equipment or production line.
  9. Knowledgeable in OSHA laws and regulations.
  10. Participates in daily meetings and reports maintenance department objectives and opportunities.
  11. Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
  12. Identify and report unsafe machinery, equipment repairs and upgrades as needed
  13. Knowledge and experience in high power tools, assortment of welders, jigs, tigs and skill saws and other essential equipment to maintain a high performing maintenance shop.
  14. Identify, repair or replace machinery and equipment not in compliance with OSHA or local safety ordinances or guidelines.
  15. Conducts all the tasks in accordance with company policies and procedures, according to the laws and regulatory agencies: EPA, OSHA, Fire Department, FSMA, FDA, etc.   

Competencies/ Skills

  • Computer Knowledge and Math Skills
  • High Proficiency on PLC’s such as Allen Bradley or Siemens
  • High Level in HVAC Skills including RTU’s &/or Condensers
  • Mechanicals Skills in Shear Mixer, Pumps &/or Welding tig-mig
  • High Skill in Electrical circuits, including 480 AC/DC
  • Teamwork Oriented
  • Excellent Time Management
  • Working with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient reading, writing and verbal communication skills.
