Maintenance Technician

Adecco Staffing is assisting a local company in the Walesboro area in seeking out a Maintenance Technician. This is a DIRECT HIRE position. In the position you would be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing machinery, equipment, physical structures, and electrical systems throughout the plant. Job Description:


  1. Install and repair electrical apparatus, such as transformers, wiring, electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment
  2. Install, program, and/or repair automated machinery and equipment such as robots or programmable controllers.
  3. Operate cutting torch and welding equipment to cut or join metal parts
  4. Checks operating equipment for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction and discusses machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problems or repair machine. Dismantle defective machines and equipment and install new or repaired parts. Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery. Lay out, assemble, install, and maintain pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment. Repair and replace gauges, calves, pressure regulators, and related equipment. Repair and replace gauges, valves, pressure regulators and related equipment as needed.
  5. Set up and operate machinery such as lathe, grinder, drill, and milling machine to repair or fabricate parts, jigs, fixtures, and tools.
  6. Visually inspect and test machinery and equipment.
  7. Other duties when assigned.


Job requirements:


  1. Minimum of 2-3 years experience in industrial maintenance field, of five or more years in related experience and/or training. 2-3 years of fabrication experience.
  2. Preferable experience would include industrial electricity, relay logic and ladder logic, troubleshooting, basic PLC experience, and variable frequency drive knowledge. Experience in hydraulics, pneumatics, HVAC, and diesel engines would be helpful.
  3. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variable in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  4. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees of organization.
  5. Must be able to lift 50-75 pounds. Must be able to stand or sit for long periods of time.
  6. Must be able to work in conditions with multiple furnaces in a production area.
