Maintenance Technician

Adecco is currently hiring candidates for a Maintenance Technician role with prior professional background experience in the Light Industrial field, ideally chemical plants. Facility work location is Deer Park, TX. This role is temp to hire, Monday- Friday, $24.00- $26.00 per hour. Shift hours: Training on day shift: 6:00 AM – 3:30 PM. After completion of 3 month hiring training: will be assigned to night shift: 4:00 PM- 2:30 AM. Basic Plus and Fit and Pulmonary test are required. CANDIDATES MUST BE ABLE TO WORK OT. MUST BE ABLE TO SUCCESSFULLY PASS DRUG AND BACKGROUND CHECK.

I.             Summary (Scope of the Job)

Maintenance Technician position within a manufacturing environment.  Focus on supporting the preventative maintenance process including lubrication and inspection, general maintenance tasks, such as but not necessarily limited to assembly and disassembly of components, problem troubleshooting and correction.  Support all production equipment and physical plant equipment in the facility.

II.            Major Responsibilities

1.            Complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatics and some PLC maintenance tasks in a safe, efficient manner, which supports the continuous improvement process within the facility.

2.            Must have the ability to read and follow equipment manufacturer’s manuals, schemes, blueprints, diagrams, circuits, specification for gears, etc.

3.            Adjust and calibrate equipment.

4.            Complex diagnosis, plan and repair activities with detailed working procedures.  Determine materials, replacement parts, and tools/parts needed to proceed with logical approach to repairs, maintenance and rebuilds.

5.            Set-up, adjust, calibrate, and operate equipment, perform layout and bench work, inspect, dismantle, repair, rebuild, assemble, install and lubricate machinery and mechanical equipment throughout the manufacturing facility.

6.            Inspect for defects, misalignment, wear, insufficient lubrication and determine best process for making repairs with limited interruption to production.

7.            Ability to troubleshoot electrical problems such as motor starters, VFD, PLC, and take initiative to correct

8.            Installations, machine modifications, disassembles.

9.            Maintain and perform preventative maintenance on machines within plant facility.

10.          Assists in maintaining building needs (heating and cooling systems)

11.          Disassemble, move and/or relocate existing equipment and install new equipment.

12.          Provide for safe disposal of all toxic materials and supplies.

13.          Maintain tools and work area in a safe, neat and secure manner.

14.          Maintain daily work logs and update equipment and component records.

15.          Maintain preventative maintenance and lubrication schedules.

16.          Incorporates and maintains safety observances, including but not limited to, use of all PPE, ensuring guards and safety features are working, and promoting good safety practices and habits.

17.          May test machines and/or production equipment as instructed to ensure customer needs are met.

18.          May train others on preventative maintenance.

19.          Performs other duties as assigned.

III.           Background Requirements

Education:

High School Diploma, or GED required;

Experience:

5+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment

Knowledge and Skills:

Electrical, mechanical, hydraulics, and pneumatic skills.  Basic understanding of electrical and preventative maintenance process.  Ability to operate machines and hand-tools relevant to a manufacturing environment.  Ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems and take initiative to correct or seek immediate assistance.  Ability to assemble and disassemble equipment.  Ability to read and follow equipment manufacturer’s manuals, schemes, blueprints, diagrams, circuits, specification for gears, etc.
