The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the oversight of facilities and associated land masses in Northern Virginia region reporting to Sr. Director. Perform physical and clerical tasks associated with shipment and reception of supplies and finished products. Verify shipping records and correct packaging and labeling. Unpack received goods and check for damage and accuracy of shipment. Work with materials transport companies. 20% Shipping receiving


Some travel may be required
May be required to perform on call, after hours, or weekend support
Responsible for facility upkeep (wall painting, condition of carpets, floors, etc.)
Cleaning and maintenance of facility
Toilets, sink, vanity, disposal, drain, etc. repair
Support facility related programs and initiatives (safety, security, etc.)
Monitor, repair, and recommend enhancements to facility security
Responsible for preventive maintenance of facility equipment including HVAC, office and shop equipment
Inspect construction and installation progress
Oversee parking program to include creation of reserved, or no parking areas
Maintain facility signage and flags ensuring flags at proper staff designation
Snow & ice removal and or oversight of same
Ensure proper permitting, to code specification, and documentation of all facilities related work
Oversee building inspections
Participate in facility related audits
Implement or support the implementation of audit related findings or corrections
Help relocate employees and associated items (personal items, furniture, etc.) throughout facility as needed
Help with employee terminations (pack up, leaving facility) as needed
Interface with landlord and ensure proper notification and documentation on items requiring his/her approval
Ensure all documentation and requirements as it relates to vendors brought into the facility are met (IE: citizenship, insurance certificates, safety sign offs)
Ensure any chemicals brought into the facility that you may be directly aware of follow the appropriate process
Provide inputs to leasing process including space needs of departments
Move and arrange all areas of the facility as needs dictate
Prepare progress reports and update senior management on status of problems and facility needs
Provide one-off / one-time pickup and delivery services in support of corporate contracts
Ensure accurate delivery and reception of supplies, equipment, materials, and finished products
Load and unload trucks delivering or picking up supplies and or finished goods
Inspect and verify that supplies and products received are accurate in quantity, type, and condition
Ensure shipments are correctly assembled, packaged, protected, and labeled to minimize delivery problems
Receive shipments, stock shelves with products, and maintain a clean and safe work area
Verify and file shipping records, which have been checked against bills of lading, invoices, and orders
Maintain shipping and receiving materials, document items shipped, and record transportation information
Adherence to safety regulations

High School Diploma or GED

2-5 years experience

Experience in maintenance trades, knowledge of business codes and local ordinances, ability to operate machinery (forklifts, lifts, etc.), knowledge of safety codes and practices, ability to interface with many different trades and nationalities, ability to multitask. Ability to use computer and applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or otherwise moving objects weighing up to 50 pounds occasionally and/or a negligible amount of weight frequently. Periodic lifting requirements may call for team lifting of 60+ pounds.
