Adecco Direct Hire is recruiting on behalf of our client in the Gastonia, NC area for maintenance technicians on 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Shifts. Our client is a heavy volume manufacturer, and are seeking candidates for this role who have great experience with PLCs, as well as top-notch electrical skills. Basic Function:
Must be able to repair, install, replace and maintains both mechanical and electrical equipment. Also must be able to diagnose equipment failure and make repairs to equipment per manufacture recommendations and / or appropriate work instructions.
Essential Functions:
1. Operate and maintain equipment according to requirements.
2. Interpret and apply specifications such as drawings, schematics, ladder logic etc.
3. Maintain appropriate records such as work orders, timesheets etc.
4. Dismantles electrical equipment and replaces faulty or defective parts in compliance with O.S.H.A., State and Local codes.
5. Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized work area.
6. Operate all equipment in accordance with safety requirements.
7. Assist in the building of new equipment and fixtures as required.
8. Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team.
Responsibility and Authority as Related to Quality:
1. Ensure that quality standards are met.
2. Stop processes if quality or safety standards are not met.
3. Identify and record any problems relating to the product, process, and the quality system.
4. Initiate, recommend, or provide solutions through designated channels.
5. Control further processing, delivery, or installation of non-conforming product until deficiency or unsatisfactory condition is corrected.
Education, Experience, and Physical Requirements:
1. Completion of a one year industrial electrician course or equivalent.
2. Demonstrated ability to perform essential functions.
3. Must be able to physically lift and maneuver weights in excess of fifty pounds.
4. Must be able to work under physical situations that include standing, moving, climbing, lifting, kneeling, crouching, reaching and handling.
6 A minimum of two years mechanical and electrical experience is preferred.
7. Have basic knowledge of O.S.H.A., State and Local electrical codes.
8. Training and / or experience with Polyurethane dispensing systems, hydraulics, machining, PLC programming and computer skills are highly desirable.
