Adecco Direct Placement is currently recruiting experienced candidates for a Direct Hire Maintenance Technician job in Lexington, KY with one of our top manufacturing clients. The Maintenance Technician will utilize their strategic and technical skills to troubleshoot, install, repair and handle preventive maintenance of plastic extrusion equipment. We are seeking candidates with experience and a strong manufacturing background. This position is a 12 hour shift, a starting pay rate of $21.49/hr with a shift differential, plenty of earning potential- up to $32/hr, along with a comprehensive benefits package.

Responsibilities for the Maintenance Technician in Lexington, KY include:

Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical and electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment by following electrical code manuals, schematic diagrams, blueprints, and other specifications, using hand tools, power tools, and electrical and electronics test equipment.
Connect power supply wires to machines and equipment, and connects cables and wires between machines and equipment, following manuals, schematic diagrams, and blueprints, using hand tools and test equipment.
Test and diagnose malfunctioning machinery using test equipment, and repairs malfunction with other maintenance workers, such as machine repairer, maintenance and tool maker.
Diagnose malfunctioning apparatus, such as transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures, using test equipment, and replace damaged or broken wires and cables, using hand tools.
Working knowledge of equipment operations consisting of standard motor control, and programmable controllers.
Diagnose and replace faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of machines and equipment.
Plan layout of wiring and install wiring, conduit, and electrical apparatus in buildings.
Perform limited welding and pipe fitting.
Assist shift maintenance personnel with daily calls and duties as needed.
Knowledge of all safety procedures for all equipment.


High School Diploma/GED required- if no diploma, do not waste your time applying!
Strong, hands-on experience with computers, PLC programming, motor controls and power distribution.
Two year Electrical Associates Degree and/or a combination of education with apprenticeship or experience; military experience a plus.
Minimum experience: 3 years in industrial maintenance in a manufacturing environment; plastics a plus.
Electro-Mechanical and pneumatic system troubleshooting skills.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics and ladder logic.
Good communication skills.
Proficient use of hand tools and power tools.
