Responsibilities for this Maintenance Technician job include:

 

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Proven maintenance experience.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
  • Related degree from a technical school preferred.
  • Skilled in the use of hand and power tools.
  • Ability to take apart machines, equipment, or devices to remove and replace defective parts.
  • Ability to check blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs as necessary.
  • Ability to use common tools such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches.
  • Experience with precision measuring instruments or electronic testing devices.
  • Experience performing routine maintenance.
  • Strong organizational and follow up skills.
  • Eye for detail.
  • Professional presentation and attitude.
  • Ability to maintain focus while working individually.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Ability to work 12hr shifts.
  •  

    Responsibilities:

  • Perform general maintenance duties on building and machines.
  • Be able to perform preventative maintenance on the machines.
  • Assists in servicing and replacing minor plumbing fixtures.
  • Performs minor electrical work not requiring a licensed electrician.
  • Assists in minor carpentry and repair work.
  • Maintain machinery, equipment, and tools by cleaning, lubricating, greasing, and/or oiling to ensure optimum working order.
  • Performs related duties as required.
  • Performs preventive maintenance and makes repairs to equipment according to instructions such as replacing belts on motors, changing filters, bearings, etc.
  • Maintains and makes routine repairs to electrically powered equipment and appliances according to instruction from engineers, supervisor and/or equipment service manuals.
  • Receives assigned work order to complete on equipment. 
  • Upon completion of work, enters appropriate information onto worksheet for submission and filing and/or enters into MRP/MES system for filing and tracking.
  • Performs scheduled PMs and visually inspect and test assigned machines and equipment for proper functionality.
  • May be required to order requisition parts as needed.
  • Perform repairs on production machines and/or equipment when a malfunction has been detected.  May discuss machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problem and repair the machine.
  • Lays out, assembles, installs, and maintains pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment.
  • Perform machine installations/moves and building maintenance tasks as needed.
  • Assist workers in diagnosing malfunctions in machinery and equipment.
  • Develop, coordinate and track project list activities.
  • Ensures that a high level of safety is adhered to always on and off the production floor.
  • Follow Plant specified job specification and task list.
  •
