Maintenance Technician

  1. Carry out all duties that are necessary in resolving reactionary activities (ex: equipment downtime) and report the need for further maintenance and safety to the staff.
  2. Ensure the proper use of all tools in the workshop for cutting, bending and welding of equipment.
  3. Carry out a daily evaluation of workshop equipment to ensure that the equipment is in good working condition, and is safe to operate.
  4. Carry out skilled work in the installation, maintenance and repair of mechanical and electrical (208/480 V 3 phase) equipment. This includes: troubleshooting, performing corrective and preventative maintenance, installing, maintaining, upgrading and repairing facilities and equipment at the facility. Equipment includes conveyors, hoists, compressors, pumps, hydraulic/pneumatic systems, HVAC, boilers, chillers, steam powered equipment, automation (Mitsubishi and Allen Bradley PLCs) and controls, facility mechanical and electrical systems. Plan and manage vendors coming onsite to perform periodic preventative maintenance and/ or inspection of equipment. Maintain records for all repairs and preventive maintenance activities.
  5. Plan and perform machining and fabrication of tooling.
  6. Ensure compliance with all applicable OSHA, EPA and Company Safety and Environmental Policies.
  7. Responsible for selecting and purchasing material and parts needed for completing work. Assist with the establishment and direction of preventative maintenance activities as needed. Provide input to risk management plans that will anticipate reliability-related risks that could adversely impact plant operations.
  8. Provide technical expertise to production, maintenance management and technical personnel and proactively address potential issues.
  9. Complete necessary trainings to safely perform all work duties.
  10. Assist with completing Bright Idea program tasks.
  11. Implement and adhere to all TS-16949/ IATF/5S Policies and Procedures.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned by Engineering Manager, Plant Manager or President.


  1. Bachelor’s degree or a combination of experience and a 2-year technical degree from a certified trade school or technical college or an accredited skilled trade apprenticeship program.



  1. At least 5 years of progressive, journeyman level experience performing facilities and equipment maintenance in a manufacturing environment.
  2. Knowledge of lean principles and proactive maintenance practices in process critical manufacturing facilities, auto manufacturing experience preferred.
  3. Experience with safety principles, Job Hazard Analyses (JHA’s) and the use of PPE.
  4. Some supervisory experience is preferred.
  5. Exceptional customer service, communications, interpersonal, and team building skills.
  6. Demonstrated exceptional troubleshooting and problem-solving skills required.
  7. Computer skills with proficiency using MS Office tools (Excel, Word, Project and PowerPoint).
  8. Ability to effectively collaborate with peers, management, subordinates and corporate resources to positively impact performance.
  9. Ability to interact effectively with customers in difficult situations.
  10. Ability to drive accountability and encourage excellence.
  11. Knowledge of PLC programming
