Manager Global Product Performance Running Footwear

POSITION PURPOSE / SUMMARY STATEMENT (defines the major functions/purpose of the position):  Reporting directly to the Director, Global Footwear – Performance Run, the Manager, Global Product Line – Footwear, is responsible for managing a comprehensive product cycle in a post-development environment. Responsible for developing the best Product Line for the assigned category that is in-line with commercial expectations and merchandising needs. Ensures the transfer of all product information and line plans from concept stage towards Go-To-Market meeting.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES (include titles of positions directly reporting to this position):

  • Manages 1 direct report, an Associate Product Line Manager

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan, organize and coordinate projects to meet objectives and timeline between self and direct reports.
  • Communicates effectively with executive management, direct reports, the other members of the product triad team (design and development), as well as regional merchandisers in all global regions, in evaluating, reviewing and updating category product lines to ensure product launch success.
  • Create the line plan for Architecture Cuts, containing the optimal and most effective mix of the market needs expressed by merchandising. Introduce new concepts to create newness for our brand in performance running.
  • Collaborate with Merchandising to analyze historical sell in and sell out numbers to make best decisions for future product lines and new model introductions.
  • Manage seasonal update of competitor matrix. Should clearly map the technologies and price points for all competing styles in the category.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

· 5 years’ experience in Product management within sporting or athletic industry.

· 1 year management experience. 

· Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, or Engineering preferred.

  • Technical background, understands materials, fit, function, and end-user requirements.
  • Comprehensive understanding of product development, manufacturing, and retail buying process.
  • Experience working with international cultures and in an international environment.

· Report generating and analytical experience related to merchandising, financials and sales.

· Good computer skills: Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, and Lotus Notes.

· Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

  • Experience with Google Applications such as Gmail, Google Hangouts, etc. a plus.
