Manufacturing Engineer – Nashua, NH

We have an immediate opening for an experienced Manufacturing Engineer at one of our top manufacturing clients. The company is a leader within their industry and is extremely environmentally conscious.

The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for identifying, developing, and implementing, improvements to manufacturing processes in support of existing products and processes. They will also partner with R&D to develop new processes while maintaining proper process functionality and managing cost efficiencies. Their primary focus will be on process elements of material flow and movement, automation, equipment and control systems. They will have a high focus on developing and implementing Capital Projects to improve processes, efficiency, and productivity.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Maintaining company standards of performance, complying with safety policies and procedures
Developing and maintaining overall manufacturing processes and required documentation
Evaluating existing manufacturing processes to identify and implement changes to reduce cost or increase output
Assisting Production personnel with meeting production goals through additional support and process improvements
Promoting and implementing Lean Manufacturing techniques
Optimizing equipment set-up, change-overs, running, and Up Time
Developing requirements and specifications for new equipment to improve productivity
Scoping, managing, and implementing capital projects to modify or add equipment in process lines or facilities
Collecting and evaluating bids and awarding and managing contracts as part of Project Management
Coordinating project implementation with the production schedule and internal and external resources
Working with Operations and Facilities in developing recommendations for the need for capital equipment, improvements, and tooling, etc.
Leading Training initiatives, creating and maintaining training documentation, and training Operations on effective operation of equipment
Support Operations and R&D to resolve technical issues and implement corrective and preventive actions
Assessing the overall manufacturability of new designs including measuring efficiency and cost

EXPERIENCE:

Bachelors’ degree in Engineering or related discipline
7+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
Experience in a Lean Manufacturing environment
Capital Project implementation
MRP/ERP systems including bill of materials (BOM) maintenance, engineering change orders, etc.
Customer focused, both internal and external
Strong communication, leadership, presentation and interpersonal skills


Demonstrated successful performance with independent and team problem solving, presentations, leadership, and coordinating and completing multiple tasks within and across departments to meet changing deadlines
Project Management and Implementation
Lean Manufacturing (Black Belt)
Manufacturing with assembly line and packaging experience
Automation and robotics


Experience with Preventative Maintenance, CAD, and Project Management Software preferred
