The Manufacturing Engineering Manager is a key factory staff member responsible for the overall performance, development and maintenance of the plant’s technical resources and capability (both equipment and personnel). As the overall owner of all the manufacturing processes, this leader will be responsible for:

Building the manufacturing technical organization comprised of manufacturing process subject matter experts
Developing and / or improving mfg. processes to deliver on safety, quality, delivery and cost aspirations
Creating and deploying lean infrastructure / system through the implementation of lean principles, lean technologies, training and procedures

Lead the development, prioritization and implementation of manufacturing process improvements and expansion projects, which includes capital projects and spending plans. This leader will:

Guide key objectives and goals for each member of the team
Allocate the organization’s technical resources efficiently to deliver plant metrics
Provide for the mentoring / training of Manufacturing process subject matter experts and ensure individual career coaching, performance feedback and talent development
Recruit resources to fill team needs in a timely fashion
Partner with plant operations team to drive improvements in equipment O.E.E. (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) as well as overall process improvements. Drive improvements in equipment safety, quality, availability, and efficiency
Coordinate with all plant departments to develop the annual spending plan as it relates to mfg. processes and associated benefits/deliverables
Ensure projects align with both factory current and future state needs and prioritize projects to drive all factory metrics (Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost)
Develop mfg. processes in support of new product introductions as it relates delivering upon Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost through coordinated capital equipment projects
Ensure all projects comply with EHS and ergonomic requirements; utilize Human Organizational Performance (HOP) principles to ensure that all equipment / tooling / processes are implemented with the health and safety of the operators in mind
Work with the Facilities, Maintenance and Stock Room Leadership to ensure proper and accurate inventories are maintained to support OEE improvements

This position requires compliance with ITAR requirement. Must be a “U.S. Person” (per ITAR 120.15) and are required to show proof substantiating this upon being hired.

Demonstrable track record over a minimum of 10 years of successfully leading technical projects in a high-volume discrete parts metal working environment
Strong CNC Experience – process development, equipment acquisition (Lathes, Mills, 5-Axis CNC), etc.; Solidworks, Mastercam and CAMWorks familiarity
Strong experience deploying Lean Principles and Technologies with a minimum of GB certified
Strong Project management experience; Project leadership – P.M.C. desirable
Familiarity with Phase Gate NPD and PPAP a plus
Cross functional team builder/player with high levels of professionalism, integrity, and enthusiasm
Must have senior management potential/interest
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written

Required: B.S. in M.E. or MFG.E. Degree
Preferred: Master’s in Business or Engineering Discipline
