The Manufacturing / Process Technician supports activities of the Manufacturing / Process engineer in determining processes for all products manufactured at the facility. Executes the plans and implements engineering projects related to Manufacturing Engineering data developments and manufacturing processes. Troubleshoots processes and provides engineering service to the production floor and R&D pilot area and laboratory.

3. Job Title: Manufacturing / Process Technician

4. Reports to: Manufacturing / Process Engineer

5. General Description of the Job:

The Manufacturing / Process Technician is responsible for;
• Support the execution of the diverse activities of the Manufacturing / Process Engineer
• Prepares and maintains manufacturing route sheets and data sheets.
• Maintain updated rate files with complete and comprehensive backup data and prepare challenge position when necessary
• Analyze nonstandard conditions and make recommendations for corrections / improvements.
• Troubleshoots manufacturing processes and implements corrective action as problems occur.
• Assist in development of accurate and timely manufacturing quotations for original equipment and aftermarket catalysts.
• Supports the implementation of new processes and equipment.
• Troubleshoot processes prone to be frequent or major production problems and/or manpower.
• Determine machine capacities and equipment loads
• Maintains open communications with other Divisions.
• Works with Manufacturing, Quality Control, and Production Control and Maintenance personnel in resolving production problems.
• Supports implementation of engineering projects associated with manufacturing processes and Engineering data development.
• Determines in-process inspection requirements. Recommends the inspection techniques and equipment required to meet product quality specifications.
• Operates photographic and other equipment required in the development and documentation of Manufacturing Engineering Data.
• Interprets Product and Tool Drawings and Specifications. Works with precision measuring instruments.
• Assists in training the Manufacturing departments set-up and operational personnel as it relates to the proper set-up and use of tooling and equipment.
• Supports Just-In-Time Techniques in the development of manufacturing processes.
• Provides support for the introduction of new product.
• Troubleshoot using statistical analysis and design of experimental techniques on manufacturing process problems.
• Obtain quotes for new product and equipment.
• Wear mandatory PPE equipment and dress safely for the job.
• Maintains responsible area clean and free of debris.
In addition, management system responsibilities and authorities include:

Safety Management System requirements;
• Obeying all safety policies and procedures
• Accepting any disciplinary actions from violating safety policies and procedures

Quality Management System requirements;
• Controlling production paperwork or data
• Participating in internal management system audits.

Environmental System requirements;
• ensuring environmental policies and procedures are followed
• Ensuring wastes are handled properly.

6. Basic Skills and Competencies:

The Manufacturing / Process Technician must demonstrate the following attributes;
• An attention to detail.
• Knowledge of machines and principles:
• Superior excel/computer skills, strong algebra background, MS Office proficient, CAD is beneficial.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well on teams.
• Job requirements will include engineering, maintenance and R&D support.
• In-house Machine Knowledge and understanding of capabilities

7. Education, Credentials, & Experience

• Two (2) year degree in Engineering or related field.
• Min. one (1) years Process/Manufacturing experience.
• Experience in related industry.
