Manufacturing - Quality Analyst

General Job Summary:

The Quality Analyst will conduct quality assurance process and product audits assuring company, customer and regulatory standards are maintained. Work with Plant Manager to resolve quality, production, and efficiency problems.

  • Follows all safety process and procedures in accordance with the job and Company policy.
  • Understand and follow all quality procedures
  • Perform inspection as required (First piece, In process, Final Inspection, Receiving Inspection and special inspections) against prints and specifications to ensure accuracy
  • Confirm that plant audit / inspection procedures are properly carried out and assigned work activities are maintained. Ensure quality customer requirement are met and verify control plan defined by Quality Engineering is followed.
  • Perform statistical data acquisition required by Quality Engineering and interprets as appropriate.
  • Work with Plant Manager, Quality Engineer and Engineering to implement procedures, standards and systems. Confirm these procedures are being maintained.
  • Communicate, evaluate and take corrective action when necessary regarding non-conforming product. Escalate issues to Manufacturing and Quality as necessary. Take appropriate steps to document rejections as required.
  • Monitoring quality performance, collecting, reporting data such as scrap, end of line failure and additional operations.
  • Train and instruct plant personnel in recommended quality inspections, equipment inspection
  • Review with Plant Manager and other associates on better operational procedures to improve overall production performances.
  • Assist in development of special department projects and work in conjunction with plant manager and quality engineer.
  • Train new employees on Quality Procedures.

Education

Experience

High School Graduation with 3-5 year of Manufacturing experience

3-5 years related experience or training

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Internet Explorer and Microsoft PowerPoint.

Other Requirements:

  • Understanding and utilization of micrometers, verniers, height gages and protractors. Must have working knowledge of GD&T. Strong math skills with emphasis on trigonometry and be able to work in inches and millimeters.

Language Skills:

High Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodical, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to complete required forms and describe quality issues. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from manufacturing associates and management.

Mathematical Skills:

High Skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability:

High Skills: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
