Adecco is assisting a local client and recruiting for a Materials Planner in Trumbull, CT

Position: Materials Planner
Location: Trumbull, CT
W2 Contract: 6+ months
Schedule: Monday to Friday 8 to 5 pm (summer hours on Fri 1/2 day 8 to 1 pm)
Pay Rate: $35.00 per hour



JOB SUMMARY


Material Planner is responsible for weekly determination/communication of category’s manufacturing requirements in such a manner to ensure 97.5% customer service while maintaining predetermined raw/pack inventories. Position works closely with Procurement, vendors, manufacturing Supply Planners, Finance and Operations. The key metrics are:

1) Customer Service (OR) targeted at 97.5%
2) RPW inventory management
3) EDGE project execution
4) Cost effective and efficient management of supply chain network & specific to the Pilot Plant in Trumbull location




Duties & Responsibilities:


Maintain weekly production schedule for manufacturing facility, and execute the subsequent MRP cycles; managing materials in support of the schedules.
Manage master data setups and daily utilization of SAP for procurement and management of materials. Also manage Bills of Materials maintenance and effectivity dates within PLM for accurate material requirements planning.
Support of forecast/inventory targets and communication of weekly production schedules to manufacturers and other stakeholders on a timely basis -Identify potentially obsolete inventory and seek disposition in a timely manner, per corporate guidelines
Work cross functionally with R&D to collate material requirements and managed offline ordering and process with suppliers
Communicate with manufacturers and raw/packaging suppliers on material requirements, processing returns of non-conforming materials when required.




Challenges:


Must be able to multi-task and re-prioritize on a daily basis in order to accommodate changing business requirements.
Assist in resolving inventory control issues that arise with perpetual inventory system on a timely basis.
As the primary source of operational information, must be available to a number of individuals within Operations, Finance, Procurement, Supply Chain, Package Engineering and Development in order to resolve daily issues -Individual must listen and accurately communicate with a number of parties, many with conflicting goals, issues at hand with proposed resolution.
Position must develop good working rapport with manufacturers and vendors at all levels in their organization.
Often required to communicate changes to production with very little lead-time


Scope:

Overall Material Planning and Scheduling for Pilot Plant within the Personal Care Product Group
Interface with supply planner, innovation planner, and supply management to manage the material planning for a portion of the Personal Care Product Group
High level of market activity within Personal Care, both on sales samples
As a member of Category Working Team,key in ongoing management of cost control throughout supply chain network activities



Key Requirements:



Undergraduate degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Planning, Engineering or related fields.
2+ yr experience Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Planning, material planning or supply planning
Experience with the movement of material and warehousing.
Experience working in high volume CPG/manufacturing.
SAP and APICS, a plus.
Strong communication skills
Ability to work independently and as a team; self-starter.
Microsoft Office skills - Must have very strong Excel skills
