Senior Buyer
Under general supervision, assists more senior buyers and performs a range of activities associated with purchasing goods, materials, suppliers, and services based on established quality standards, availability requirements and price constraints.
Principal Duties:
1. Under general supervision, purchases materials and services at the best price from reliable sources, consistent with established standards for quality, quantity, and other requirements of the business.
2. Enters all customer orders in a timely fashion and provides feedback to users on status of orders.
3. Obtains quotations and negotiates with suppliers on price, quality and service on assigned purchased materials.
4. Assists more senior buyers and performs a range of activities as assigned.
5. Plans and prioritizes activities, suggests and implements process improvements aimed at increasing customer service and productivity levels.
6. Manages interpersonal relationships with supplier staff and contributes to the measurement and reporting of program performance.
7. Establishes and maintains a harmonious relationship with vendors or prospective vendors in order to enhance the performance and reputation of the company.
8. Assists with back orders and resolution of match and hold reports to resolve pricing and quantity discrepancies.
9. Work closely with accounts payable and accounting to resolve any internal issues.

REQUIREMENTS:
University degree and 1 year suggested minimum experience, or 2 year degree and 6 years suggested minimum experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Demonstrated analytical and communication skills-both written and verbal. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite programs and prior experience with supply chain management functions and systems.
