Adecco Direct Placement is currently recruiting experienced candidates for a Direct Hire Ground Support Equipment Mechanic Technician job in Indianapolis, IN with one of our top clients. Duties of the Mechanic Technician involve the performance of mechanical repairs and maintenance on powered ground and other support equipment used in aircraft servicing and repair.

• Responsible for maintenance program, inventory control, and scheduling of preventative maintenance requirements for ground support equipment.
• Troubleshoot deficiencies and repair flight critical equipment including lifting devices, turbine powered generators, towing devices, and auxiliary power units.
• Troubleshoots, repairs, services, performs modifications on, and operates powered ground support equipment such as AC and DC power generators, air compressors, blowers, heaters, deicers, and nonpowered equipment to include jacks, ramps, tow-bars, etc.
• Performs required preventative maintenance and servicing of equipment including repairing and replacing tires, lubrication, oil changes, replacing air, fuel and oil filters, checking fluid levels, adjusting and replacing spark plugs, hoses, and other items. Reads and interprets repair manuals, basic electrical and hydraulic schematics.
• Performs major system component overhaul/rebuild, repair/replacement and troubleshooting as needed including gas systems, air systems, power-plant, brake, fuel, hydraulic, steering, starting, ignition, and electrical systems.
• Performs body and fender repairs, fabrication of components, prepares and paints equipment.
• Ensures all maintenance/repair documentation is completed in compliance with carrier, station, airport authority, municipal, state, and federal requirements in a thorough and timely manner.

• High School Diploma or GED
• 2-5 years of related experience; experience with ground support equipment or in an airport environment preferred.
• Valid Driver’s License
• Ability to read and understand basic electrical/ hydraulic schematics and blueprints
• Mechanic skills including mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair.
• Basic to intermediate understanding of PLC control systems.

The salary for this position is based on qualifications and experience- $20-$30/hr.
