Adecco is currently assisting a local client in their search for a Mechanical Designer/Drafter. This roll will be responsible for designing and detailing signaling products for Adecco Clients various customers according to the customer’s specifications and Adecco Clients standards.  Working with the Engineering Manager and senior designers, the Designer/Drafter develops design solutions, creates the necessary documentation, and initiates the internal processes for manufacture.  Maintenance, as required, of legacy drawings and bills of materials.  Support of Manufacturing, Lean initiatives, and the Continuous Improvement culture are important elements of the role.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (additional responsibilities may be added as needed)

  • Completes work in support of engineering objectives under direction of the Engineering Manager and senior designers in accordance to Engineering standard work and processes

 

  • Creates design solutions for Adecco Client customers ensuring products meet and exceed all customer and industry requirements
     
  • Develops 3D solid models, designs and details various Adecco Client products within AutoDESK Inventor environment

 

  • Designs and details various Adecco Client products within AutoCAD 2D environment

 

  • Input and maintenance of part numbers, descriptions and bills of materials in our ERP system with the QuickBooks environment
     
  • Supports Engineering projects through deliverables and quality work assignments
     
  • Supports Adecco Client Manufacturing through various projects not limited to design
     
  • Supports design, CAD, and Engineering systems verifying work exceeds Adecco Clients Engineering standards and customer expectations

 

  • Learns Adecco Client Engineering practices and develops business acumen
     
  • Develops and revises Adecco Client Engineering procedures documenting best practice in department
     
  • Participates in Lean Manufacturing and supports the Continuous Improvement culture

 

 

 

Competencies:

  • AutoDesk Inventor and AutoCAD 2D required
    (alternate 3D modeling systems may be considered – i.e.: SolidWorks, Pro-E, UG)
     
  • Associates Degree in Engineering or Technical field of study, Two-year accredited Design and Drafting Program, or equivalent Engineering Design experience within related Manufacturing company
     
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate across all levels of the organization from senior management to manufacturing
     
  • Teamwork and collaborations skills are required, and candidates must be able to demonstrate success in an Engineering design environment
     
  • Self-discipline, detail oriented, and motivated to ensure all assignments are completed with the highest level of quality and on-time
     
  • Excellent mathematical skills including fundamental understanding of geometry, trigonometry, and solid geometry
     
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint
     
  • Problem Solving Skills based on information, data, and observation
