Are you a hands on Mechanical Engineer who doesn't want to sit behind a desk all day? Are you tired of the 9-5 monotonous job? Do you like a dynamic work load and making a difference? Then this is the position for you! This person will provide hands on support to our mining and refractory brick manufacturing processes. Our Project Engineers work directly with our operations staff to determine the project requirements, develop a project scope, assist in securing bidding and contract terms, and manage various capital equipment or facility projects, engineering services and machine build/fabrication requirements.

Responsibilities and Expectations

  • Supervise all project work with both internal and third party contractors ensuring that proper safety protocols and practices are followed
  • Works directly with our operations staff to determine the project requirements, develop a project scope, assist in securing bidding and contract terms
  • Manage various capital equipment or facility projects, engineering services and machine build/fabrication requirements
  • This position works on site. The candidate will need to be comfortable working with required PPE in an often loud and dirty environment
  • Support the development of a strong, pro-active safety culture
  • Interact with operations or maintenance team members to create a project scope and project requirements
  • Prepare a complete project package including budget, resource requirements, third party involvement, timeline, etc.
  • Holds involved parties accountable for any cost or time overruns and communicates project status and support needs to leadership team members to keep a project running efficiently
  • Interacts frequently with the manufacturing and mining team members regarding equipment operation, process concerns, or optimization of equipment usage
  • Provides support to operators or maintenance professionals to troubleshoot equipment failures

Required Education and Experience

  • S. degree from an accredited institution with a relevant engineering degree like Mechanical or Manufacturing engineering
  • 5+ years of project engineering experience in a heavy industrial or manufacturing setting
  • Experience managing capital projects
  • AutoCAD, SolidWorks or other 3D modeling software experience
Salary:
  • $75-$85 K
