POSITION: Medical Billing Rep
DURATION: 1 month *Possibility of extension*

• Collate all retrieve relevant billing information to the billing office (i.e., anesthesia record, patient demographic information) and scan into the office imaging software.
• Audit each charge in the daily batch against an OR log or schedule to ensure all services provided have been received and will be forwarded for billing. Conduct investigation in the event of a missing charge.
• Work with Client’s site(s) to provide any request for additional documentation (i.e., copy of note from patient chart to further define service provided).
• Review all patient charge information for accuracy prior to transmission of information to billing operation
• Review case data to ensure all necessary data elements are present for coding to highest level of specificity – minimize need for case “sendbacks” once received by billing operation.
• When necessary, access hospital systems and print related information upon request of main billing operation (ie, patient demographic forms, operative reports, anesthesia records)
• Effectively work with relevant hospital departments to improve practice billing operations
• Ability to adeptly work with Change Healthcare proprietary accounts receivable billing system
• Special accounts receivable projects as may be assigned from time to time
• Conduct outgoing calls to patients and insurance companies as needed
• Identify any problems/trends and communicate them to management for resolution.
• Other duties of related to revenue cycle management as assigned


Strong telephone and verbal communication skills
Excellent organization skills and to be able to handle a multitude of tasks simultaneously.
A strong knowledge of navigating multiple computer systems
Strong keyboard, copier, scanner and printer skills.
Must be able to use email, internet, Microsoft Word and Excel.
Professional and able to handle confidential information.
